Chamomile is one of the oldest and most favorite of all herbs dating back to ancient Egyptians. It’s beautiful golden center surrounded by white ray-like petals are said to have reminded them of the sun and its rays. Chamomile’s name is derived from the Greek, chamos (ground) or kamai (on the ground) and melos (apple), in reference to its low growth and its apple blossom aroma.

Egyptian chamomile is known as the finest in the world. This is partly due to centuries of expertise in chamomile cultivation, but mainly due to the fact that Egyptian chamomile produces large, bright flowers that produce the most fragrant, golden cup of tea. The climate of Egypt is ideally suited to the cultivation of chamomile where it thrives in the dry, sandy soil and abundant sunshine.

Chamomile Herb Tea is organically grown on a small family farm in northern Egypt. Chamomiles unique flavor and aromatic qualities quickly dissipate as the blossoms wither in a matter of six hours. It is for this reason that it is harvested as soon as it blooms to fully capture its essence.  Chamomile is hand harvested as soon as the blossoms appear and is sun dried in the traditional manner used in Egypt for thousands of years.

Chamomile was carefully selected for its superior quality and sweet floral notes that are reminiscent of apple. It produces a beautiful, golden cup of tea with calming and soothing properties that are beneficial to digestive and nervous system health. It is delicious and enjoyable anytime of day, and appropriate for all age groups since it is completely caffeine free.

The flavor of any tea reflects the soil it is grown in, the season picked, and the curing process.  Organic Chamomile Herb Tea is nurtured according to strict organic standards. The grower is dedicated the stewardship of the land, water, and plants. This dedication shows in their skillful traditional handling that gives us the best organic tea in the world.

Most tea bags contain a plastic that allows them to be heat sealed. We didn’t think this was any way to treat good tea. Every part of an tea bag reflects the highest care, from its oxygen washed manila fibers, to its crimped seal and 100 percent cotton string. No whiteners or plastics used.
